I really enjoy the dot-paintings that Australian Aboriginal artists produce. I have a few originals hanging here in my home office and I find myself gazing at them when I'm deep in thought. The style has a sort of energy about it that implies motion and action and yet is very calming.
This print is a high-quality silk-screen version of a dot painting of three sea turtles laying their eggs, 16.8" by 20.6".
This 10" Morning Singer Kachina doll is hand made in the USA by a Navajo artist. It has a resin face and is painted and assembled by hand and decorated with leather and feather accessories. Because they are hand-crafted, each one will be slightly different!
The Morning Singer calls for the sun to rise, tells the news, and sings songs to wake the village.
We're big fans of figural art and this unique ceramic sculpture definitely qualifies. I like how the three figures that support the shallow bowl are echoed in the classical style nudes within.
